NGA uses imagery, geospatial and targeting analysis, image sciences and modeling for US national defense and disaster relief. We were inspired by nature, patterns, cartography, and map typography to inject color into their previous blue and gray look. In addition, the design involves a map fold-out and flipper book resembling navigation materials. The transparent cover overlays on the Flagship piece showcases NGA’s abilities of combining technical, geographic, and intelligence as layers of information for analysis and interpretation.

This project won The Communicator Awards, Silver Award of Distinction in 2012.
